Since 2017, BusinessPortraits.ca has photographed healthcare and life-sciences teams across the GTA, among them the hospitals SickKids and Sunnybrook; the pharmaceutical and life-sciences companies Bayer, Janssen, Johnson & Johnson, Takeda, Chiesi, HLS Therapeutics, Contract Pharmaceuticals, and PharmaMedica; the medical-device maker Dentsply Sirona; and the College of Nurses of Ontario, alongside specialist clinics and dental practices photographed for their own clinicians.
BusinessPortraits.ca is configured for the clinical environment: privacy-safe on-site sessions with no patient information in frame, one consistent standard everywhere the team is published, and coverage that spans hospitals, pharma and life sciences, medical device, clinics and dental practices, and mental-health practices.

How does BusinessPortraits.ca photograph inside a hospital or clinic?
BusinessPortraits.ca brings a one-trip mobile studio to the site and photographs staff between their duties, with no patient information, charts, screens, or identifiable patients in frame. The team follows the facility's photography policy and stays clear of patient-care areas. Most people are photographed in a few minutes.

PHIPA is Ontario's health-privacy law, the standard that governs personal health information.
The work is PHIPA-aware. PHIPA is Ontario's health-privacy law, the standard that governs personal health information in the province. Every frame is composed so that nothing identifying a patient appears in the background.
Each person reviews their own frames on the live preview monitor on set and confirms the pick before the next colleague steps in, so nothing needs redoing later. When a controlled setting suits the work better, the same standard runs in a private studio or outdoors.
How do you keep one consistent look across a website, presentations, and research?
BusinessPortraits.ca documents one look, the lighting, framing, and background, and applies it to everyone, so a team reads as one standard wherever its photos appear: the organization's website and team pages, staff and provider directories, conference and investor presentations, research papers and journal publications, speaker and conference bios, and press and social profiles.
As an organization adds people, BusinessPortraits.ca photographs the new staff to match the established look. The lighting and setup are kept on file, so each new portrait matches the ones already published, whether a hire joins a month or a year later.
Because every person confirms their frames on the live preview monitor on set, the match is right the first time. The same standard holds across departments and across multiple sites: a one-trip mobile setup comes to each location, and a private studio handles anyone photographed off-site.
What does a credible healthcare headshot look like?
A credible healthcare headshot reads clean and current. Physicians are usually photographed in a white coat over professional attire, clinical staff in pressed solid-colour scrubs where appropriate, and administrative and leadership roles in business attire. The background is a studio backdrop, white or one of the catalogue colours, or the real clinical setting itself.
Physicians, over professional attire.
Clinical staff, pressed and solid where appropriate.
Administrative and leadership roles.
An environmental portrait is a headshot photographed in a real workplace setting rather than against a plain backdrop. A neutral corridor or office can stand in for the backdrop where the facility permits it, always with no patient information in frame. Studio sessions use a backdrop chosen from more than 100 photographed colours, then locked so every portrait in the set matches.
Mental-health practices book a warmer, more approachable register for their clinicians, the look that suits a Psychology Today profile, a practice website, or a directory listing. BusinessPortraits.ca has photographed therapists and mental-health practitioners; the practice books the session for its clinicians so the look stays consistent with the rest of the team.
How does BusinessPortraits.ca support pharmaceutical and life-sciences teams?
For pharmaceutical, medical-device, and life-sciences companies, BusinessPortraits.ca produces leadership and corporate portraits and brand-aligned imagery for websites, corporate and investor communications, research publications, and marketing. The work stays consistent across business units and ready for the channels where a company publishes it.
When a project must follow set guidelines, BusinessPortraits.ca shoots to them, matching a company's brand, compliance, and formatting requirements.
BusinessPortraits.ca has photographed to required formatting and presentation standards, including medical-residency guidelines, and matches a company's brand and compliance requirements whenever a project calls for them.
The life-sciences roster spans big pharma (Bayer, Janssen, Johnson & Johnson, Takeda, and Chiesi), specialty pharma (HLS Therapeutics), contract manufacturing (Contract Pharmaceuticals), and contract research (PharmaMedica), with medical-device work for Dentsply Sirona and nursing-regulator work for the College of Nurses of Ontario.
Which session format fits your team?
A department or team at one location
An individual clinician or a small group
An organization with several locations
Choose on-site when a department needs to be photographed without leaving the building, the private studio for an individual clinician or a small group, and a multi-site rollout when one standard has to hold across several locations. All three deliver the same colour corrected proofs in 2 business days, then high-resolution retouched images.
Healthcare headshot pricing
Healthcare headshots start at $226.98 per person for a standard session. Departmental days use the group discount, which ranges from 20% to 65% by team size, with larger teams reaching the higher end. Express format is a faster session format for high-volume days, available at a 50-person minimum; multi-site rollouts are quoted to your locations and timing.
Organizations that photograph on an ongoing cadence use a subscription. Account credit is a bonus percentage added on top of a subscription deposit, expanding the spendable credit balance across the 12-month term. Subscriptions start at $5,000 on Essential with 10% account credit, $15,000 on Growth with 15%, and $30,000 on Enterprise with 20% on annual payment. Hospitals and pharmaceutical companies usually enter at Growth or Enterprise; clinics and private practices at Essential or Growth.
The 90-Day Pilot Program is the way to start. Run a single team day under pilot terms, convert to an annual subscription within 90 days, and 100% of the pilot fee transfers as account credit.
